Kingdom Community Leaders Lab is a place for leaders and aspiring leaders who recognize that where we are is not where we need to be. Through this training, we are inviting leaders to take a deep look at the Church, and Scripture, in order to create a vibrant, and relevant Church community.
A Kingdom Community is a simple term we use to describe the body of Christ as we believe it should be—a vibrant body of believers that experiences a life of radical community, service to one another, and worship to God. This life includes a shedding of unhelpful structure and tradition, and a return to a more biblical picture of Church.
We believe God is birthing this vision in people of all different ages, locations, denominations, inside and outside of the “church” world. People are fed up with attending services out of ritual, tired of being hurt by authoritarian leadership, and sick of the lack of authenticity among believers. We cannot continue down this path.
Kingdom Community Leaders Lab is a course that can be used to restructure a traditional church or to gather those on the fringes into a biblical community. In this course, we focus on 5 concepts. Through teaching these 5 concepts, we believe we can return to a biblical model of church, and experience the beautiful, sacrificial, messy, wonderful life that God intended for His people.
We will start with where you are, dive into scripture, and then dream about the path forward. The topics we will cover include: worship, every member involvement, fellowship, leadership structure, and witness.
Our first stop with every topic is to take a deep look at where you are. It is time to take off the blinders and really assess the world around you. What problems are you facing? What are the structures holding up the church? What is the good, the bad, and the ugly? We want to leave no stone unturned. We believe the Holy Spirit can show us our reality.
After assessing where we are, we will take a look at scripture to see where God intends us to be. This can be surprising, convicting, and inspiring Either way, we want the Holy Spirit to challenge you. We will dig deep into scripture to see what it says about each topic. This will help us peel back the layers and structures that aren’t biblical and help us move forward with our eyes set in the right direction.
Lastly, with Scripture before us, we need to recognize our context and dream of a way to move forward. We aim to remain true to the Bible and apply its truth to our context. This will take some work. We will ask questions and create space for you to think and dream
